App crashes or consumes too much battery resource
About battery consumption
AdGuard itself doesn't consume much battery juice. But because a lot of other apps' traffic is going through it, the system often attributes all this traffic to AdGuard. Subsequently, based on this assumption the system decides that AdGuard is responsible for much more battery resource consumption than it is in reality. To view real battery consumption stats, open AdGuard and go to Menu → Battery Usage.
If the numbers there are too high, or if they don't represent the real state of affairs, try following:
Disable extra filters in Menu → Settings → Content Blocking → Filters. Only Base, Mobile and your language-specific filter are absolutely necessary, the rest can be disabled.
Disable DNS filtering in Menu → Settings → DNS Filtering.
Disable high quality filtering method in Menu → Settings → Content Blocking. Take into account that some ads may appear after that.
Disable HTTPS filtering in Menu → Settings → Network → HTTPS Filtering. This also may lead to some unblocked ads.
About AdGuard crashes
If AdGuard crashed, that's usually because the system tried to self-optimize its work. Different device models are more or less inclined to randomly 'kill' an app, and possible solutions also vary greatly. Please check out our article and try solutions specific to your device.
