Dealing with critical errors in Beta and Nightly versions of AdGuard Ad Blocker and AdGuard VPN apps for Windows
Between June 10th and 11th, both AdGuard Ad Blocker and AdGuard VPN apps for Windows got a critical error that made it impossible to either launch or install Beta and Nightly versions of these apps. Fortunately, it did not affect the release versions of the apps.
Without getting unnecessarily deep into technical details, the problem wasn’t in the code itself, but in the way we had been using a certain third-party software to create builds. We don’t want to shift responsibility, however, as we could have foreseen this problem and avoided it.
We have promptly fixed the problem and released hotfixes for both the Beta and Nightly versions of AdGuard Ad Blocker and AdGuard VPN. Unfortunately, the nature of the problem prevents the apps from updating immediately. You could wait for the automatic update, which can take some time, but we strongly recommend to manually download the latest version from our official website:
You can install any of these versions over the existing one without needing to uninstall first.
