Qualcuno potrebbe dire che non tutte le release sono degne di essere festeggiate, poiché spesso consistono in miglioramenti minori e correzioni di bug. Ebbene, noi non siamo d'accordo. Siamo molto orgogliosi di presentarvi la versione aggiornata di AdGuard per Safari. Il nostro obiettivo principale è stato quello di garantire la compatibilità con il nuovo macOS Sonoma, migliorando anche l'estensione nel suo complesso.
Una icona è meglia che due iconi
Come alcuni di voi sapranno, è stato rilasciato il nuovo macOS Sonoma, che ha apportato un cambiamento significativo al browser Safari. Ora tutte le icone delle estensioni vengono visualizzate nella barra degli strumenti per impostazione predefinita, anche se non dovrebbero essere presenti. Di conseguenza, anche l'icona dell'estensione di Blocco avanzato AdGuard è arrivata nella barra degli strumenti, causando frustrazione agli utenti.
Per risolvere questo problema, abbiamo unito due estensioni in una sola, chiamata AdGuard per Safari.
Che altro? Abbiamo risolto il fastidioso problema dell'apertura del pannello delle impostazioni all'accesso. Il problema era stato risolto in precedenza, ma è ricomparso. Ora tutto è tornato alla normalità.
Infine, abbiamo risolto diversi bug in SafariConverterLib, la libreria responsabile della conversione delle regole di AdGuard in un formato supportato da Safari. Anche la libreria Scriptlets, che contiene brevi script parametrizzati utilizzati per le regole di blocco avanzate, è stata aggiornata. Ora tocca a lei aggiornare!

Ci sono molti modi per aiutare l'applicazione a identificare un annuncio. Uno di questi è la pseudo-classe
:has(). Con essa è possibile, ad esempio, segnalare ad AdGuard di bloccare tutto ciò che si chiama banner.Ed ecco la buona notizia: dalla versione 16.4, questa pseudo-classe è supportata da Safari e le regole con essa possono essere applicate in modo nativo. Ciò significa che non è più necessario gestire tali regole con la nostra libreria ExtendedCss (anche se è ancora possibile farlo utilizzando il marcatore
#?#): il browser fa tutto da solo. E poiché le regole sono applicate nel blocco dei contenuti di Safari, il filtraggio è più rapido. Un vantaggio per tutti!In questa patch abbiamo anche risolto i problemi con il convertitore di regole e aggiornato ExtendedCss e Scriptlets.

Ecco la nuova versione di AdGuard per Safari! Il cambiamento più importante è l'aumento del limite di regole - ora si possono usare fino a 150.000 regole in ogni content blocker!
Abbiamo triplicato il limite di regole per ciascuno dei sei blocchi dei contenuti - AdGuard General, AdGuard Privacy, AdGuard Social, AdGuard Security, AdGuard Other e AdGuard Custom. D'ora in poi, ognuno di essi può contenere fino a 150K regole, il che migliorerà sicuramente la qualità del blocco di annunci.
A parte questo, potresti aver notato che la nostra icona è stata cambiata. Apple ci ha chiesto di rimuovere l'icona di Safari dal nostro logo — e lo apprezziamo. Ma sicuramente non sarai confuso dalla nostra nuova icona: in realtà non è così nuova.
Inoltre, abbiamo aggiornato il convertitore di regole e gli scriptlet, abbiamo risolto alcuni bug minori e speriamo di aver fatto la nostra estensione per il browser ancora migliore.

You had to wait for some time for this AdGuard for Safari update, and we did everything we could to make the wait worthwile. From several new options to export/import user settings, blocklists, allowlists, and user rules — to multiple bugfixes and enhancements. v1.8.5 makes ad blocking in Safari better and much more convenient.

This feature is present in every other AdGuard app or browser extension, so it made a ton of sense to add it to AdGuard for Safari too. You can export your User rules to a local file at any time, as well as import from a file. Same goes for Allowlist; note that if you switch to Inverted Allowlist, you can export/import it too. All in all, it's useful when you want to reinstall the extension for any reason or transfer your preferences between browsers/devices.

In a nutshell, Electron is a framework for building cross-platform desktop apps. AdGuard for Safari extension is made on it, so upgrading the framework solved lots of UI issues.

You can say that a scriptlet is an internal script (a mini-program) that we preinstall to AdGuard for Safari, and then execute that script with the help of filtering rules. It took us a bit more than a month to update AdGuard for Safari from v1.1 to v1.2, and almost half a year to get to v1.3. As you know, if we do something for so long, it's probably going to be worth it. This time is not an exception: on top of multiple smallish but important changes and fixes, we have two big ones. First is the addition of standalone builds, including Beta build. Second is even cooler: AG for Safari now supports advanced ad blocking rules, and this is very unusual for Safari ad blockers (thanks, Apple restrictions). In fact, AdGuard is the only one who does it. Enough talk, update to v1.3 and see for yourself.

AdGuard for Safari has quickly become a real member of AdGuard product family. And what is a better initiation rite for an app than getting its own beta channel? That's right, you can now get an early access to all AG for Safari updates. How do you do it? You go to GitHub, open the latest beta version there and download the beta archive. Notice that there's another one: a release standalone build (its identical to the App Store one but is distributed via GitHub).
WARNING: Installing either of the standalone builds on top of the App Store version will lose you all current settings, so make sure to save all your custom rules beforehand.
