Why does AdGuard Mini for Android need notification permission?
Notification permission does two main things.
First, it helps protection run without interruptions. Android’s battery optimization tends to stop apps that run in the background for a long time, and an ad blocker needs to work in the background constantly. A persistent notification with the protection status signals to the system that the app is active and shouldn’t be stopped.
Second, you stay informed about everything else the app wants to tell you: from filtering status to settings that might need your attention.
The app will keep working without notifications, but the system may stop it in the background more often, and you may miss important messages.
