What is AdGuard?
AdGuard is not only an ad blocker, but a whole ad blocking and privacy protection suite. Our goal is to put users back in control of their devices and their Internet experience. Ultimately, we want to cover all and any devices, not just the major platforms.
You can find the detailed FAQs for the desktop AdGuard products on their respective product pages.
AdGuard for Windows is our flagship product. It is a standalone program, which exempts it from limitations of the browser extension approach to ad blocking. In addition to its main function, it protects your privacy and stops malware and phishing websites. AdGuard for Windows offers a 2-week trial period but requires a license to keep using it afterwards.
AdGuard for Mac is another standalone app, the Windows version counterpart for Mac. It shows the same excellent ad blocking quality, but lacks some of the secondary functions like Parental control. AdGuard for Mac offers a 2-week trial period but requires a license to keep using it afterwards.
AdGuard offers a series of browser extensions for the most popular browsers like Chrome, Safari, Edge etc. Despite having several intrinsic limitations compared to the standalone apps, they still do a decent job at blocking ads and trackers and are completely free.

Any device (including IOT/home devices)
AdGuard DNS is an alternative approach to ad blocking based on intercepting and filtering DNS requests. It can be used for free on virtually any device or router. The exhaustive FAQ for it can be found on its product page.
How is AdGuard different from other ad blockers?
It heavily depends on the platform. Generally, we at AdGuard don't want to rely just on the capabilities provided by the browsers. That's why our flagship products are standalone programs, which allows blocking ads and trackers system-wide.
We believe that this is the only proper way for users to regain control of their devices and data. Traditional ad blockers depend on the goodwill of browsers developers, which mostly are global corporations who profit from showing their users ads. For AdGuard, it does not make any difference what browser or app you use, it does its job equally well everywhere.

How much do AdGuard products cost?
We have free products as well as free versions of premium products, but unlike some other ad blockers we don't partner with advertisers and don't have any acceptable ads programs. The only way we earn money is by selling licenses for the premium versions of AdGuard products. More info here.
What's our stance on open source?
What does AdGuard protect from except ads?
It can vary depending on the product (links to pages with details above), but most AdGuard products offer the protection from tracking, malware and phishing websites.
What is tracking/trackers?
To put it simply, trackers are special scripts that send and receive information about you and your actions online to third-party companies. They can slow down websites and expose your private data to advertisers, cyber criminals and governments.
All AdGuard products offer a filter list created specifically to block trackers, and AdGuard for Windows has a unique module — Stealth Mode — which sole purpose is to protect your online privacy.
What is malware?
Malware is a contraction for “malicious software”, and it is used to describe any type of harmful software, including viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransomware, spyware, adware, etc.
AdGuard is not an antivirus, so it will not remove any viruses and such from your computer or cell phone. But it will use its extensive database of malicious websites to warn you if you are about to visit one of them. This database is being regularly updated to keep you protected from malware.
What is phishing?
Phishing is the practice of trying to get private information such as usernames, passwords, credit card details, social security numbers, and more through the use of imposter emails and websites.
Most AdGuard products have a built-in anti-phishing module that checks every website against the database to warn you if you are about to open a fraudulent site.
