We take for granted that protection switch on the main screen is on. With that out of the way, check the following:
Update filters: Main screen → Update icon in the top right corner
Enable content blocking: Menu → Settings → Content Blocking
Enable DNS filtering: Menu → Settings → DNS Filtering
Enable HTTPS filtering: Menu → Settings → Network → HTTPS Filtering**
