Ad-Filtering Dev Summit is back for 2025
Ad-Filtering Dev Summit, or AFDS for short, is the biggest event in the world of ad blocking. It’s been held for seven consecutive years, and for the majority of times AdGuard has been a part of it. We’ve worn many different hats: AdGuard took on the roles of an ordinary participant, a sponsor, a co-host. We are proud to announce that this year AdGuard will be organizing the Summit alongside Ghostery and eyeo!
📌 Where? Crowne Plaza, Limassol, Cyprus
🕑 When? October 23–24
🤔💭 What to expect? Tech talks and presentations by the leading industry experts, engaging discussions, new acquaintances — right on the warm Mediterranean coast!
Since its debut in 2018, the AFDS has changed its name (it was originally called the Ad-Blocker Developer Summit), the hosting city (it used to be held in San Francisco, Amsterdam, and Berlin), and even its format, from in-person to online-only (thanks, COVID!) and back. One thing hasn’t changed, though: year in and year out, the AFDS attracts people from all over the world who share a passion for making the Web safer and better for everyone. 2025 will not be an exception, and we will do our absolute best to make sure everyone feels welcome.
For the first time, AFDS will be held not in the middle of a megapolis, but at a beautiful seafront venue. We can’t be the only ones to believe that Cyprus’s gentle October weather and salty sea air will naturally complement the discussions about privacy and ad blocking!
Just because we participate in organizing the event doesn’t mean that we won’t participate as speakers! In fact, people with different AdGuard backgrounds have a long history of speaking at the AFDS. From developers and UX writers to the man himself, AdGuard’s CTO and co-founder Andrey Meshkov. But enough about the past, let’s talk about the future and how you can become the part of it!
Call for papers
If you’re interested in speaking at the event, you have every chance to join us at the AFDS 2025 in Limassol! Once you’ve decided on the topic, submit your speaker application via the link below:
Talk submission deadline: August 10, 2025.
Our review committee will carefully evaluate all submissions and help us select the talks for this year’s summit. You can expect to hear from us with an update in late August!

Here are five broad topics we suggest:
- Integration of AI, ML, and LLM into ad blockers
- Ad blocking on emerging platforms (chatbots, AR/VR) and other (connected TVs, voice assistants, mobile and smart home devices)
- Digital privacy challenges in the data-driven world
- Browser development trends and their impact on ad blocking
- Cookie-less future: alternative tracking technologies
But don’t let our proposals clip your wings: we’re also open to suggestions on other topics relevant to ad blocking and privacy protection. Perhaps you will draw inspiration from the previous year’s talks delivered by the amazing people from Brave, eyeo, Google, Malwarebytes, Mozilla, Opera, and more.
Afraid you don’t have enough to bring to the table as a speaker? No worries! You can join the AFDS as a regular participant. What could be better than listening to amazing speakers and discussing their presentations over a glass of Arnold Palmer between trips to the beach?
