AdGuard for iOS v4.5.11: better filtering and ad-free streams
Filtering is meant to be invisible — if everything works well, you won’t even realize it’s there. Just a clean, ad-free internet.
In this update, we’ve made significant improvements under the hood:
- We switched to a new content blocking rules converter, WebExtension engine, and JavaScript library.
- Filtering rule compatibility with AdGuard filters has been greatly enhanced.
- Rule processing is now faster and more stable.
All this translates to better performance in practice — especially in Safari. If you watch YouTube there, you’ll notice: no more ads, no delays, no black screens caused by blocked content.
Updated guide: Enabling Safari extensions
To take full advantage of these improvements, make sure you have AdGuard extensions enabled in Safari. We’ve updated our video guide to walk you through the process.
Why does it matter? These extensions enable advanced filtering and allow AdGuard to block even the hardest-to-catch ads — like those on YouTube.
Speaking of ads on YouTube.
No more stream issue
YouTube recently rolled out some changes that affected streaming in the AdGuard’s video browser. The good news: in version 4.5.11, we took care of it — everything’s back to normal. Streams work again — you can watch them ad-free, in the background, with your phone in your pocket while you go about your day.
So if you haven’t used this feature in a while (or never tried it at all) — now’s the time.
How to watch YouTube without ads on iOS
Open the video → tap Share → More → Block ads (by AdGuard)
AdGuard opens the video in a separate window, without ads — your own premium experience.
