AT&T patent: system that shows ads based on your emotions
AT&T (an American multinational telecommunications corporation) has published patent application recently. And the patent is quite peculiar. The point is in the invention of the system which will allow to display ads based on users emotions.
We won’t go into details as for what this future invention contains. Just the brief info: this will be the system which gathers data about device position, user’s hand and forearm position (with the help of sensors in mobile devices) and then draws conclusions based on the recorded movements, correlating them with the base of gestures ( ‘body language’). The collected information will allow to suggest what emotions does the user feel at the moment. Here is what is said in patent application: “If repetitive or cyclical human movement is observed, the user may be pacing back and forth, perhaps indicating a worried or concerned mood. However, if the overall posture indicates the user is upside down, perhaps the user is happily swinging from a tree limb”.
As stated, thus marketers will able to deliver more effective ads. This system will help to assess users’ emotional state and show them more relevant ads.
