AdGuard v4.8 for Android: speeding things up

The new version comes with the usual changes and attempts to speed up all the processes. But before we start digging into the updates, let us remind you that from this version, AdGuard for Android only supports Android 9 or higher.

Unified code base

We want to add new features and fix bugs in our apps as quickly as possible, and the key to that is a single code base for mobile apps. This allows us to introduce new features and fix bugs in both apps at once. So AdGuard for Android v4.8 is becoming more and more like our ad blocker for iOS. Now you can expect more frequent updates and more stable performance from our apps.

Other fixes and updates

As you may have noticed, we are after high speed, and when something works slowly we rush to speed it up. That's what happened with Statistics — it took some time to load a big amount of data but now it works fast.

And there would be no release without updates to the CoreLibs and DnsLibs. More information about these and other changes can be found in the Versions history page.
