Ad-Filtering Dev Summit in Cyprus: travel hacks for the event
The Ad-Filtering Dev Summit is the biggest event in the world of ad blocking. And for the first time ever, it's not taking place in a crowded city center, but at a stunning beachfront venue. Can you think of a better place to discuss privacy and ad blocking than Cyprus, with its gentle October weather and refreshing sea breeze?
After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email — just show it at the entrance on the days of the conference.
Ahead of the Ad-Filtering Dev Summit, we’re sharing some tips and tricks to help you make the most of your time at the event and explore the lovely city of Limassol.
How to get from your front door to Limassol
🌍 From Europe
If you’re starting your journey in Europe, getting to Cyprus is pretty straightforward. The easiest way? Hop on a flight! Numerous airlines fly to Larnaca (LCA) and Paphos (PFO) airports, with flight times typically ranging from 2 to 4 hours.
Feeling adventurous? If you want to add a little more excitement to your trip, consider taking a ferry. For example, there’s a seasonal ferry from Piraeus (Greece) to Limassol. Ferries run every couple of days from May through September. Unfortunately, you can’t take a ferry to the summit, but if you’re heading to Cyprus during the season, it’s a cool option. To plan your route in advance, check the schedule on the official website. It takes longer, but you’ll get to soak in the Greek charm and enjoy some scenic views along the way.
🌏 From Asia or the USA
Are you reading this from Asia or the USA? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. To get to Cyprus, you’ll need to fly and unfortunately there are no direct routes.
Here’s a step-by-step guide just for you:
-
Look up flights: Start by checking flights from your nearest airport. See if there’s a direct route to Larnaca (LCA) or Paphos (PFO)
-
Consider layovers: If you need to connect, think about which option makes the most sense for you
-
Be mindful of layover times: Make sure you have enough time for your connection. We recommend at least 3 hours between flights to be on the safe side
-
Get ready for a long journey: Your trip could take 10+ hours, so bring along neck pillows, snacks, water, and some moisturizing cream to counteract the dry air
How to get from Cyprus airports to Limassol
You’ve made it to Cyprus! You’ve braved the journey, and now it’s time to breathe in that fresh sea air, grab your luggage, and enjoy a cup of Cypriot coffee at the airport. The last step? Getting to Limassol. There are several ways to get there, depending on your budget and preferences.
Larnaca
1. Intercity bus
There’s a direct bus from Larnaca Airport to Limassol, taking around 1.5 hours. Tickets cost around €5, and buses run every 2–3 hours from 5 AM to 12 PM. You can buy them right at the airport at the designated counter.
This is the cheapest option and, time-wise, not too far behind a taxi or private transfer. But if you’re traveling with large luggage, it may not be the most comfortable one
2. Taxi
A taxi from Larnaca Airport to Limassol costs around €70, with a travel time of about 50 minutes, depending on traffic. You can book a taxi in advance or simply hop into one waiting at the airport. We recommend using local apps like Bolt or CABCY
3. Private transfers
Perfect for groups, private transfers start at €53, and you can choose from a variety of vehicles, including standard cars or minivans for larger groups. This is a great option if you’re traveling with a team or family. To make your trip with a transfer as comfortable as possible, we recommend booking a car in advance — you can do it quickly and hassle-free on the transfer service’s website
4. Carsharing
You can also use a carsharing service. For tourists with a valid driver’s license, this might be the most convenient option. Cyprus has the Ride Now service. The approximate cost of a trip from the Larnaca airport to Limassol is around €25. You can find and rent a car right in the app, which is pretty convenient
Paphos
1. Intercity bus
There’s a direct bus from Paphos Airport to Limassol, taking around one hour. Tickets cost €10 for adults and €5 for kids. You can buy them right at the airport at the designated counter, and you can check timetables on the Limassol Airport Express official website
2. Taxi
A taxi from Paphos Airport to Larnaca will cost around €60–70, depending on the time of day. The trip takes about an hour. For added convenience when booking, we recommend using local apps like Bolt or CABCY
3. Private transfers
If you prefer a fixed price and a pickup right at the exit, private transfer services are a great option. Several booking providers operate in the city, and their prices are comparable to regular taxis. In 2025, Bolt also introduced a Minibus category along with flight tracking for airport bookings — a handy choice for families or groups of friends
4. Carsharing
Another option is car sharing. If you’ve got a valid driver’s license, it can be the easiest way to go. Cyprus has Ride Now, and a drive from the airport to Limassol is roughly €25. You can locate and book a car right in the app — super handy
