Global regulator for internet ads
The World Federation of Advertisers wants to create a global regulator for internet ads.
WFA suggests to stop fighting the adblockers and focus on creating decent ads that people won’t want to block.
This idea became very popular in the industry lately, but here we can see a different approach.
WFA wants to create a global coalition of all representative parties in the advertising chain, that will study the real user behaviour and reactions and will create a set of advertising standards to prohibit the most “problematic” types of ads.
The question is will the market players be able to cooperate and will these standards really reflect people’s opinion. What do you think about it?
