What's the difference between AdGuard and other ad blockers? Do you really need AdGuard if you have uBlock or Adblock Plus? If I had a dollar for every time I got asked this question, we'd probably make our product free. I'd like to tell you the story from the very beginning. It will help you understand not only the difference, but also how and why the key decisions about AdGuard's development were made.

Since the very beginning of AdGuard, every year we were doing more: more updates, more products, more features. And that translated into more people using AdGuard :). However, you may have noticed that in 2018 we were not as active with AdGuard updates as we usually are. We even had to postpone the long-awaited cloud sync feature. There is a good reason for that, and I am going to tell you more about it today.

When we claim that AdGuard protects your privacy, we mean it. And here is a story proving it.

A few days ago Amazon informed us that AdGuard for Android was suspended on the Amazon AppStore due to their content policy violation. The said policy repeats Google Play store policies practically word to word:

Privacy protection is basically what we do, so I never get tired of stories about how unpredictable the ways of getting Facebook user data are. Cambridge Analytica might be dead, but the business of stealing users’ data lives on, and this article demonstrates one more example of that.
